New Liverpool signing highlights four team-mates who’ve most impressed him

Marko Grujic is settling in seamlessly at Liverpool, and has scored two goals in his two friendly appearances to date versus Fleetwood and Huddersfield.

He’s now away on Liverpool’s Tour of America and it’ll be interesting to see whether he can replicate his form against bigger, better sides such as Chelsea, AC Milan and Roma in the coming weeks.

The youngster has reacted to his good start, and name dropped four team-mates he’s been especially impressed by.

“I have come from the Serbian League which is easier than the Premier League,” Grujic told the Echo.

“There’s a big difference between Serbian and English football and I will need to adapt.

“The games are faster and the tempo is quicker than I was used to. But I feel like I have the qualities to help me do well.

“I’ve enjoyed the two games against Fleetwood and Huddersfield.

“It’s been a good start for me and for the squad in general as we prepare for the new season.

“I had to miss the Wigan game because I had sickness and a small problem with my back but everything is okay now. I felt good against Huddersfield.

“It’s a pleasure for me to play alongside quality players like Coutinho, Firmino, Mane and Lovren.”

It’s no surprise to see Grujic rates our Brazilian duo, and playing just behind them in the midfield double-pivot, he can watch them work their magic first-hand.

It’s good that Mane’s impressing his new team-mates following his expensive transfer from Southampton, and we hope to see the Senegalese flyer score a goal soon, having had an effort unfairly chalked out against Huddersfield last time out.

Lovren’s Croatian, so speaks the same language as Grujic (albeit a different dialect), and this is perhaps why the midfielder has included him in the list as well! The centre-back will need to continue his upward curve in form at the start of the season, as with Mamadou Sakho injured, his starting spot is guaranteed.

If he begins well, a spot at the heart of our defence will be his to lose.
