Liverpool’s kits since manufacturer New Balance took over have featured a message on the inside collar.
These quotes have been famous one-liners from legendary club figures such as Bill Shankly or Ian St. John.
A secret message on this season’s away kit reads: ‘Liverpool was made for me, and I was made for Liverpool,’ while the home shirt hides the quote: ‘There’s no noise like the Anfield noise!’
The third kit has channelled former boss Gerard Houllier, and inside the toxic green shirt you’ll find: ‘Liverpool players must play like a lion!’
We didn’t mind the first two, but surely they could have done better than the Frenchman’s grammatically curious instruction!?
Shankly alone has enough soundbites to cover our kits for the next 30 years, and we think we should’ve focussed on those ones before using Houllier’s Lion comparison.
Never mind, eh?!
Could New Balance not have at least chosen a grammatically correct quote to hide on the 3rd kit…? pic.twitter.com/56jMUuaij2
