Simon Mignolet once again found himself on the receiving end of a torrent of criticism after his questionable performance allowed Roma to snatch a 2-1 win in last night’s friendly match.
We went 1-0 behind thanks to Edwin Dzeko’s first-half opener, but when Sheyi Ojo headed home an equaliser on the stroke of half-time it looked like we might be able to go on and take a confidence-boosting win.
However, Mignolet was at fault for Mohamed Salah’s match winning goal midway through the second period, as he parried an effort catch straight up in the air, thus giving the ex-Chelsea man a simple tap in.
Fans were furious, as Mignolet was once again labelled as a liability.
Here’s what people have been saying in the aftermath on Twitter:

I’ve stuck up for Mignolet far too long. That was shocking. His decision making is beyond appalling. https://t.co/IrxuQlLAfF

need Karius’ hand to heal at exponential speeds so I don’t have to see Mignolet in goal in 12 days.
