Jurgen Klopp has claimed that Joel Matip and Marko Grujic will both play some part in this weekend’s friendly double-header against Barcelona and Mainz.

We face the Spaniards on Saturday at Wembley and the Bundesliga side in Germany on Sunday.

“Both are involved again [in training],” he said.

“Marko we had to wait for the green light. It wasn’t too serious, but we all use our brain, even for football! He has been back since yesterday and is available.

He also reiterated that Lucas, Sakho, and Joe Gomez would continue to miss out.

“We have Mama with a problem, Joe Gomez with a problem and Lucas Leiva with a problem. It’s in one position. Of course, Lucas is a midfield player but he can play centre-half,” he explained.

Lastly, he claimed that the side that faced Barcelona would not necessarily be the same eleven that would line-up against Arsenal next weekend.

“It’s football and anything can happen so it’s not like the team that will start against Barcelona will start against Arsenal.” (Echo)
