Klopp issues hugely encouraging injury update on Roberto Firmino

Jurgen Klopp has issued a hugely encouraging injury update on Roberto Firmino.

The Brazilian playmaker, who has been one of the standout players of our season so far, missed Friday night’s win over Chelsea with a slight groin issue.

Klopp told the media that his medical staff told him Firmino could play, but he did not want to take the risk.

Now, according to the Echo, he has confirmed the player will be fit for the visit of Hull City to Anfield next weekend.

Apparently, he will be assessed ahead of the League Cup tie with Derby County on Tuesday night – but we think there is little chance of him making an appearance in that one, even if he is fit.

Klopp played a strong side against Burton in Round Two, but with so many youngsters knocking on the door, it seems more likely that they will be given a chance to shine.
