Here’s a look at how our players performed individually:

GK: Loris Karius – 7/10 – Solid league debut from the German. Didn’t really have much to do and was helpless for their goal.

LB: James Milner – 9/10 – Mr Reliable from the spot and an absolute workhorse on the wing. Vital part of the side.

CB: Ragnar Klavan – 8.5/10 – Cool, calm, collected. Did what he has to with minimal fuss.

CB: Joel Matip – 8.5/10 – Absolute beast when the ball is in the air. We actually look good at the back these days.

RB: Nathaniel Clyne – 8/10 – Great outlet on the wing as always. An important part of our attacking shapes.

CM: Jordan Henderson – 8.75/10 – Another top performance from Hendo. Passing is always accurate.

CM: Gini Wijnaldum – 8.5/10 – A strong and steady presence in the middle of the park.

CM: Adam Lallana – 9/10 – No words for this guy’s performance. Top stuff from start to finish.

AMR: Sadio Mane – 8.5/10 – Menacing, threatening, dangerous – and so darn fast. Signing of the summer?

AML: Philippe Coutinho – 9.5/0 – Got the assist for Lallana, won the penalty for Milner, and scored a wonder goal.

ST: Roberto Firmino – 8/10 – A touch quieter than in recent games, but still plenty of nice movement and touches.

SUBS

Daniel Sturridge – 8/10 – His close control is so dangerous. Won the second penalty.

Emre Can – 7.5/10 – Closed up the game and slowed down the pace.

Marko Grujic – 7.5/10 – Showed more flashes of what we can expect long-term.
