Dejan Lovren makes a bold claim about Liverpool’s title chances

Posted by

Are we in the title race?

Perhaps.

The next two months will heavily influence the rest of our season. We do not play a side that finished in the top six last season between now and the game against City on New Years Eve.

Between now and the Merseyside derby on December 19th, we have what looks like an easy run:

  • Oct 22 – West Brom (H)
  • Oct 29 – Palace (A)
  • Nov 6 – Watford (H)
  • Nov 19 – Southampton (A)
  • Nov 26 – Sunderland (H)
  • Dec 4 – Bournemouth (A)
  • Dec 11 – West Ham (H)
  • Dec 14 – Middlesborough (A)

And Dejan Lovren thinks we can take advantage of the next two months and be in the hunt come May.

“It’s good when you are in the race,” Lovren said.

“You have a better chance to finish well than if you are sixth or seventh. You know everything is possible.

“Every game is a ‘win’ game for us. We have the quality to beat everyone.

“It’s just about a winning mentality. If we can keep that at the end of the season we can be proud.” (Echo)

His assertion that we can beat anyone sounds accurate. We’ve already played Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs, Utd, and Leicester, and are so far unbeaten.
