At Empire of the Kop, we do NOT want Liverpool to sell Emre Can.
He’s a young player with a high ceiling and he’s showed glimpses of what he’s capable of since signing in 2014.
But like the fans we’ve quoted here, we believe Emre Can should be dropped from the regular first-team until he gets himself together. He slows down our play, loses the ball and offers virtually zero when we’re trying to break down stubborn defences.

Last night, we lost 1-0 to Southampton, sending us out of the EFL Cup at the semi-final stage – and Can – like he has been the entirety of January, was poor.
Statistically, he had loads of the ball and completed his passes, but there was nothing in his game that worried the bus-parking visitors, and considering most of our opponents deploy such a defensive tactic, something needs to change.
Supporters inside the ground were frustrated, but the ones who took to Twitter were furious.
Here’s just some of what was said about the 23-year-old.
Emre Can? Simply not living up to his initial potential. Falling short consistently. Summer sale for me.

As good as he may become, Emre Can has been horrific recently

Matip is a better passer of the ball than Emre Can, it’s not really up for debate

Emre Can stalling on a new deal like it’s a forward pass.
Predictable.

Liverpool have looked incredibly average lately the last 5 games. No creativity or intensity at all. Emre Can is a bus & shouldnt be playing
