The 22-year-old fell to the ground following the full-time whistle after Red Bull Leipzig’s 1-0 loss to Wolfsburg on Saturday and was kept in a German hospital overnight.

His club haven’t commented on the incident yet, but Keita is thankfully conscious.

Liverpool are one of the clubs trying to buy the Guinean, along with Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid and Arsenal.

We need reinforcements in central midfield ahead of next season and Keita appears to be the top target.

He’s exceptionally dynamic and combative, providing energy to the centre of the park. He also adds end product though, having bagged four goals and registered seven assists this term.

How this incident will affect Keita’s chances of a move is unknown.

Obviously, the main thing is for the player to get healthy and back on a football field.
