Liverpool want RB Leipzig star, but it’s not Naby Keita…

A few weeks back, we wrote a list of five forwards Liverpool could be interested in, based on nothing more than their attributes, form and current club.

You can check it out, here.

Timo Werner of Red Bull Leipzig was one of them, along with Thomas Muller, Alexandre Lacazette, Alassane Plea and Kylian Mbappe – and it turns out we were right with at least one of them!

Liverpool ARE keen on German youngster Werner and have been regularly scouting the 20-year-old during their trips to Germany to check out Naby Keita – a target for the midfield.

Werner plays on either wing and has 11 goals in his past 14 games – so would be a great addition to Jurgen Klopp’s fluid front-three.

He only joined in the summer from Stuttgart, so would be mighty expensive, but could prove a viable alternative if our attempts to sign Julian Brandt fail.

Bayern Munich are now keen on our priority target for this position (via Echo), which makes our chances of acquiring him look slim, annoyingly.
