Yes, we’re all mighty disappointed by our shambolic pursuit of Virgil Van Dijk, and the mistakes made in the Mo Salah chase, too – but we have got one deal over the line already: Dominic Solanke for £3m.
The striker is currently with England at the Under-20 World Cup and has arguably been the player of the tournament so far.
Today, his brace helped England beat Italy 3-1, while Sheyi Ojo and Ovie Ejaria came off the bench and did excellently too.
Naturally, his performance didn’t go unnoticed among Liverpool fans, who’ve been keen to keep a close eye on our talented new prodigy.

Solanke is a very good transfer. Even if he does fuck all for the next two years we’ll be able to sell him for a profit.
