Liverpool have had a £66m bid for top target rejected by Red Bull Leipzig, but the player is still desperate for a move…

So much so, his agents are meeting Liverpool representatives and presumably Jurgen Klopp in Hong Kong, where we’re currently on pre-season tour.

LFC have whopping £66m Keita bid rejected; RB chairman explains why

“There are suggestions Keïta’s agent is in Hong Kong – where Liverpool are playing in a pre-season tournament– to talk to the club about whether they will make another bid,” writes Andy Hunter in the Guardian.

Red Bull Leipzig have been absolutely unwavering in their certainty that they will not offload their best player – and the fact they’ve outright rejected a bid worth more than their annual turnover proves this.

Keita is Klopp’s primary target though and Liverpool’s manager would be loathe to turn to someone he’d consider second best instead.

Now, Liverpool must consider whether a third bid will be lodged and perhaps whether Keita’s agent will encourage his client to submit a transfer request.

As we keep on saying, this will be the only chance of him leaving – although the way Red Bull Leipzig have so far conducted themselves – even that might not work.
