£90m deal agreed for Coutinho; Tuesday is the No.10’s ‘D-Day’ – reports

Philippe Coutinho could be a Barcelona player by the end of this week if reports emerging from Spain and Brazil are to be believed.

The Brazilian has been the subject of a somewhat intense pursuit from the Catalan giants, who have supposedly returned with an improved offer after their initial bid of £72million was rejected by Liverpool.

A £90million (€100million) fee has now been agreed for the 25-year-old and the player is expected to become a Barcelona player in the next few days, according to ESPN Brazil.

This follows an update from La Liga expert Guillem Balague on Sunday stating that an agreement was already in place between Coutinho himself and the Spanish club.

There has been nothing to suggest Liverpool have in any way altered their stance from a refusal to sell the playmaker under any circumstances. 

Reports from Spain have seemingly tried to pile on the pressure and elevated tenuous links as a means in which to perhaps force speculation and, ultimately, a deal. 

Catalan-based outlet Mundo Deportivo have been main culprits as far adding fuel to the fire is concerned and have continued that trend by suggesting a deal could be completed as soon as tomorrow- describing Tuesday as ‘D-Day’.

Klopp has already told Coutinho to shelve any ambitions he has to play for Barcelona and will expect him to honour the five-year contract he signed in January for at least another 12 months.

Until anything concrete is reported from the British media, the story remains the same- he will not be sold.
