Dejan Lovren wasn’t dropped today, although following his performance against Sevilla midweek, many thought he might have been.
But the Croat didn’t make the match-day squad because of a sore back – not because Jurgen Klopp wanted him out of the side.

Unfortunately, Ragnar Klavan and Joel Matip hardly covered themselves in glory.
The goal we conceded was the fault of both, with neither able to clear a simple lofted ball – which ended with Scott Arfield finding the corner of Simon Mignolet’s net.
Again, the defence has come under enormous scrutiny – as has Jurgen Klopp – who chose not to bring in a new centre-back this transfer window just gone.
