Emre Can named 3 areas he can improve as a player

Emre Can’s form has been in line with Liverpool’s this season.

He started off slowly, before peaking against Hoffenheim and Arsenal with sensational outings – but has struggled since the international break.

Our German missed the defeat to Leicester and is actually a doubt for Saturday’s tie against the same side, but he’s bullishly claimed there’s plenty of room for individual improvement.

“I think I have done well but I can do better. I have scored two goals; I have the feeling I could score more goals, have more assists and defend better,” Can told the official website.

“But I feel good, I feel in shape and I hope I can help the team. I always try to help the team, that’s the most important thing.

“I try to be in the box more because the manager expects it from the midfielders. When somebody crosses or plays the ball into the box, I try to be there.”

Right now, Can gets in Liverpool’s strongest side as part of the central three.

But once Adam Lallana returns, we think he could have to battle it out with Jordan Henderson for the no.6 role, with Coutinho and the currently injured Englishman in the advanced no.8 spots.

That midfield has creativity in abundance, although it admittedly doesn’t leave an awful lot of protection for the defence.

Still, at home against weaker sides, it could be the key.
