Liverpool still have hope of securing £53million transfer

Liverpool’s deal for Nabil Fekir does not appear to be dead in the water just yet, as has been reported.

David Maddock of the Daily Mirror is stating Lyon may still be working on restructuring the deal to keep Liverpool on board, with the player desperate for a move and Jurgen Klopp remaining keen on bringing him in.

As noted in the Mirror’s report, a deal for Liverpool to sign Fekir broke down late on, but it’s suggested the onus is now on Lyon to try striking a different agreement to ease the Reds’ concerns over his fitness.

This does seem a slightly strange one, but with the deal seemingly coming so close to completion last time, you’d be mad to think there isn’t still a chance both sides could still work on pushing things through.

Another attacker would be very useful indeed but it’s also worth reminding ourselves not to get too worked up about what would essentially be a luxury player.

More depth is useful, but we don’t *need* our next attacking signing to be a superstar. He just needs to be a bit better than the cover we currently have as another season of Mo Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane as our first choice front three is obviously no tragedy.
