Peter Crouch is a national treasure!
The ageing forward yesterday took to Twitter to applaud Xherdan Shaqiri for his masterful bicycle kick that saw Liverpool beat Manchester United 4-1 in Michigan.

He became known for his overhead kicks at Anfield as well, scoring memorable ones against Arsenal and Besiktas – but it famously took him a very long time to get off the mark…

Crouch knows Shaqiri well, having played with the Swiss international at Stoke from 2015 to this summer, when Liverpool activated a release-clause and brought him in.
Many assumed he’d be cover for the wide areas, but his performance against United shows he can do wonders in a midfield three.
