Done Deal: GK announces Liverpool transfer – Klopp has new 3rd choice

Posted by

Liverpool have officially signed Kai McKenzie-Lyle, a 20-year-old who already has full international experience for Guyana.

The stopper, who stands at over 2 metres tall, was contracted to Barnet but will now compete with the likes of Kamil Grabara and Caoimhin Kelleher for a starting spot in the U23s, and provide backup to Alisson and Simon Mignolet.

Grabara yesterday picked up an injury though, so for now, it looks like the giant new arrival will be third choice for the first-team.

Mckenzie-Lyle has three caps for his country, and has even scored a goal for Guyana, too!

His strengths are his monstrous physical frame and his kicking, although Liverpool obviously feel he can do plenty of improving with his natural traits.

We also hired Jack Robinson as a new goalkeeper coach yesterday, and the former Manchester United employee will work with the likes of McKenzie-Lyle and the other younger stoppers, while John Achterberg will continue with Alisson and Mignolet.
