Jamie Carragher has certainly been impressed with Xherdan Shaqiri since the Swiss international’s arrival from Stoke City in the summer.
Like many Reds, the LFC legend was in no doubt that despite Shaqiri only starting his second game for the club against Chelsea, he will prove to be an astute signing.
Many questioned Shaqiri’s suitability and attitude to play for a top club upon his arrival, but there has been no sign of any negativity so far.
Speaking during Sky Sports’ coverage of the game on Wednesday night, the former centre-back was wholesome in his praise.
Carragher said: “There’s no doubt there is quality in that left foot, [there’s] been real evidence of that, certainly a few days ago that free-kick he took – come in; score the goal.
“We’ve seen also tonight that he doesn’t have Salah’s blistering pace but for £12million, he’s a steal.”
Shaqiri is likely to have to begin the game at Stamford Bridge on Saturday on the bench, but we are in total agreement with Carra – keep going like this, and the winger will be viewed as yet another Jurgen Klopp bargain buy.
