Alberto Moreno has been a controversial figure for us to say the least since arriving from Sevilla, and his performance against Victor Moses and then Eden Hazard last night did not go unnoticed amongst Reds fans.
The Spanish left-back got skinned time and time again on the left flank, but it is important to remember that this was his first start of the season, against difficult opponents.

Reds fans were keen to look for the positives in Moreno’s performance – namely the fact that Andy Robertson will be playing on Saturday evening.
Lots of Reds made the point that Robertson has been excellent this season, so a tough night for Moreno should not signal a meltdown – if anything, it just goes to show how good a player we have on our hands as first choice!
Not taking anything away from the Eden Hazard goal, but there’s no way Andy Robertson gets beat in the way Alberto Moreno was. That’s the positive I’m clinging onto.

That Eden Hazard goal is nothing short of world class. It’s immense, but I really haven’t missed seeing Alberto Moreno getting spun to cost us the game. Makes me appreciate Robbo even more.
