LFC using new left-back in 1st-team training after EFL Cup game

Liverpool youngster Adam Lewis has been brought into first-team training this week, following our EFL Cup defeat to Chelsea on Wednesday evening.

Alberto Moreno played that game and by all accounts, put in a fairly poor performance standing in for our starting left-back Andy Robertson.

The Scot is phenomenal, but there’s been doubts surrounding the capabilities of the Spaniard as his primary backup option after our midweek defeat.

Lewis has been excelling for Liverpool at youth level, now in the U23s having shone for Steven Gerrard’s U18s at the beginning of last term.

According to Echo reporter James Pearce, Lewis has great potential and could be part of the first-team by next summer.

There’s no point putting too much pressure on the kid this early, as he won’t play anytime soon, but it’s good there’s serious potential coming through the ranks.

Our main hope though is that Robbo stays fit and in the kind of form that has been a catalyst for our superb start to the season.
