AS Roma have donated €150,000 to the GoFundMe page set up for Reds fan Sean Cox, who was attacked by a Roma fan outside Anfield and has life-changing injuries.

Roma’s foundation ‘Roma Cares’ has donated €100,000 with the other €50,000 a personal donation from their owner, Jim Pallotta.

Roma club officials also met with Sean’s wife in Ireland last week.

Mauro Baldissoni, Roma’s managing director, said: “Everyone at AS Roma was shocked and saddened by what happened to Sean Cox outside Anfield and having sat down with Martina (Sean’s wife), we wanted to make a donation that will help support Sean’s ongoing rehabilitation costs.”

It goes without saying that this is a really nice gesture from Roma, and that all our thoughts remain with Sean and his family.
