One of the most interesting tactical facets of our season has been the manner in which Jurgen Klopp has adapted the roles of arguably our two best attacking players: Roberto Firmino and Mo Salah.
Last time, Liverpool played a strictly 4-3-3 formation, with Sadio Mane on the left, Firmino up top and Salah on the right.
But this term, after a few games in which we looked a little uncreative offensively, Jurgen Klopp changed things up – using Salah centrally, Xherdan Shaqiri (James Milner, or someone else) on the right and Firmino in a withdrawn no.10 slot.
This is the position he did so well in at Hoffenheim before we bought him, of course.
And in the video below, you’ll see some of what he’s offered to the role over the past month.
It’s actually sensational. Enjoy!
