The three clubs Ben Woodburn could move to next

Despite the lack of an official announcement, presumably to reduce pressure on the player, Ben Woodburn’s miserable loan spell at Sheffield United is over.

The youngster made just one start in the Championship during the first half of the season which has undeniably stunted his progress.

As a result, he’s back at Melwood and re-evaluating his options.

According to Neil Jones of Goal, three Championship sides have already made enquiries about taking Woodburn on loan until the end of 2018/19.

They are Hull City, Brentford and Blackburn Rovers – although it’s not impossible that others will enter the fray now it’s been made public he’s available.

We don’t mind where he goes, just so long as he plays football!

In 2016, Woodburn became our youngest ever goalscorer and the sky was the limit. Over two years later and if anything, he’s regressed, despite some sublime exploits for the Welsh national team.

The player simply needs minutes and and a team where he can express himself creatively.

If he finds one, perhaps he can start making the same kind of contribution as Harry Wilson, who’s tearing up trees at Derby.
