Reds attacking midfielder reportedly set for second Championship loan move

Ben Woodburn could be set to join West Bromwich Albion on loan for the rest of the season, according to The Mirror.

West Brom reportedly want the talented attacking midfielder to replace Harvey Barnes, who was recalled by Leicester City having impressed in the Championship, scoring nine times and assisting six.

That would be a big task to replace the Leicester man, but one thing is certain: Woodburn needs games.

The 19-year-old was recalled by the Reds this month having not featured on loan at Sheffield United for over a month, so his next move is crucial.

Having scored his first Liverpool goal at the age of 17, Woodburn still has huge potential but needs senior competitive action to fully realise it.

Keeping him in the under-23s is one potential option, but he has probably already outgrown that age group and he needs regular minutes at the highest level possible.

The Reds certainly still have high hopes for the young Welshman.
