(Video) Liverpool’s penalty appeal hardly anyone is talking about

We’re not necessarily suggesting Liverpool were hard done by yesterday.

The performance was very poor and we failed to take advantage of an injury ridden side from start to finish.

So we think the 0-0 was a fair result and are not claiming a robbery by any means.

But the more you look at this, the more grounds there is for it to be awarded as a foul and therefore a penalty.

Scott McTominay starts grabbing Matip as soon as the Cameroonian steals a yard on him – and keeps hold until Matip jumps for and subsequently misjudges the ball.

It’s a really tough call in real time – and we don’t reckon Michael Oliver has had a nightmare missing it – but it does look a foul.

In fairness, a penalty would probably be the only way we would have scored yesterday!
