Manchester City fans are destined to embarrass themselves every time they try to show support and their latest stunt has left a number of Liverpool supporters giddy.
Fans at the Etihad on Tuesday night displayed a mosaic before City kicked off against Schalke and it featured a ship that appears on the Manchester club’s crest.

Liverpool supporters have been tearing into it on Twitter, with one fan noticing it looks exactly like the Blue Peter boat…

It doesn’t help that only one tier is involved with the display. We get the idea – it’s a boat on the sea, but it surely wouldn’t have been too difficult to get more shiny plastic for the whole stand.

It doesn’t seem like they’d be in breach of Financial Fair Play rules if they splashed out on another few thousand sheets of the blue stuff…
Fans labelled the display ‘embarrassing,’ but bless ’em for trying. They’re still new at this, after all.

Hopefully Liverpool can beat Bayern Munich and get City in the next round of the Champions League… Then we can see the famous Kop display a mosaic of a ferry on the River Mersey!
