Liverpool star injured; doubt for Tottenham; Klopp surely riled

Jordan Henderson is still struggling with the ankle problem that saw him subbed off against Bayern Munich in the Champions League, despite the fact he played for England against Czech Republic on Saturday…

This was was explained in a press-conference by Gareth Southgate, with Sky Sports suggesting Liverpool’s captain will be assessed before tonight’s fixture with Montenegro – but is a serious doubt.

We can imagine that if Henderson is still affected by the ankle issue that saw him miss our trip to Fulham, Jurgen Klopp will be asking questions as to why he played 90 minutes v Czech Republic.

If he isn’t fully fit, we cannot imagine Henderson will start v Spurs on Sunday.

But thankfully, we have Fabinho – a more than capable no.6 – who can fulfil the role at the base of our midfield three.

Either side, Gini Wijnaldum is a guaranteed starter provided he returns from Netherlands duty fit – meaning there’s one more spot – which we expect to be James Milner’s, considering the vice-captain is retired from England duty and will be fresh.

Naby Keita and Xherdan Shaqiri are unfit and out of favour right now, unfortunately.

The rest of the side picks itself. Joel Matip will partner Virgil van Dijk, with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson at fullback. Mo Salah and Sadio Mane will flank Roberto Firmino.
