The commentary on BT Sport during Liverpool’s thrashing of Barcelona was pretty epic, in fairness.
Steve McManaman was losing the plot, while Ian Darke captured the moment superbly.
So, after listening to the footage below, we’re glad Martin Tyler was working for Bleacher Report and not an English channel!
How he can be so mundane when one of the greatest football matches of all time is taking place is anyone’s guess. Compare that commentary to how Tyler described Vincent Kompany’s goal for Manchester City a day earlier, for example – chalk and cheese.
We’re not sure why he has so little time for Liverpool, but it’s blindingly obvious; it really is.
And anyone who says otherwise isn’t listening properly!
Check this out…
I can’t understand how Tyler can make this match sound like it was nothing. His job is to capture the mood and all he makes you wanna is is slit your wrists with his muted celebration pic.twitter.com/hPScJJUSLp
