The amazing reason Linda Pizzuti netted at Anfield on Sunday

Many people will have seen by now the goal that Reds owner John W Henry’s wife scored at Anfield after the Wolves game on Sunday – but it has now emerged why she did it.

Linda Pizzuti took to Instagram to explain why she netted while wearing high heels and a dress, writing that it was a bet for charity.

Reds co-owner Tom Werner dared her to score having been inspired by some of the children on the pitch – including Makka Salah – who were doing the same thing.

At first, as Pizzuti’s post explained, she was reluctant given her attire, but when Werner said he would donate $10,000 to a charity of her choice, she quickly changed her mind.

Pizzuti’s charity of choice is ‘Walking with the Wounded’ who support veterans and their families.

She said: “It was awesome! To be clear, Alisson could have been blindfolded with both hands tied behind his back and would have stopped the goal, but it was amazing in my book.”

We think it was a great finish – and for a great cause. She’s scored more at Anfield than Lionel Messi has!
