It’s fair to say that with Naby Keita injured and out of the Champions League Final, his first season in England hasn’t been as smooth as we hoped for.
The Guinean shone on debut v West Ham and perhaps prematurely, fans thought we already had the Premier League’s best midfielder pulling our strings centrally.
But sloppy form, a lack of confidence and injuries affected a big part of Keita’s campaign – and it would have been considered an individual failure had he not won a spot in the side towards the back end of the season and started showing everyone what he could do.
The fact he started away to Barcelona though shows Jurgen Klopp now trusts the 24-year-old implicitly, but sadly Keita got injured in that match and we won’t see him again until next season.
But after a full pre-season, we think Keita will be an automatic selection in 2019/20. He’s simply too talented to not come consistently good.
This video below shows ten minutes of some of his best bits – Enjoy!
