It’s no surprise Liverpool are working on extending James Milner’s contract.
He might be 33-years-old, but he’s the naturally fittest player in the squad.
On the first day of pre-season, as he does every year, Milner dominated the lactate test, which is designed to work out every player’s base level of fitness.

In the video below, you’ll see him motoring away from Joe Gomez, who deserves credit in that he came second, with ease.
At the end, Milner doesn’t look like he’s especially out of breath either. Madness.
We reckon he’ll be with us another two or maybe even three seasons under Jurgen Klopp.
