Ajax are said to have received an offfor their star forward David Neres.

Club legend Marc Overmars has come out and confirmed that the Dutch club have a ‘concrete offer’ for the Brazilian.

Neres has been linked with a move to both Liverpool and Everton before – with the Metro going as far as to suggest Jurgen Klopp has demanded that the Reds sign him.

Next week we will be turning our attention towards the interest in David Neres,” Overmars told AD in the Netherlands. “For him, there is a concrete offer.

We will then talk about that, but the intention is we as Ajax take the lead. He could have moved to China in the winter, but we didn’t let him go.”

After scoring 12 goals and racking up 15 assists in all competitions last season, the 22-year-old has turned the heads of a host of top clubs in Europe.

If we were to bring him to Merseyside he would provide the kind of versatility and eagerness that Klopp is after for our attacking options.

Ajax are demanding a fee of around £80 million for Neres, according to De Telegraaf journalist Marcel van der Kraan, who was speaking to the Sky Sports Transfer Talk podcast.

The Dutch football expert claims that they have already turned down £50million from an unnamed Chinese side, with the bid being ‘immediately swept off the table’ by sporting director Overmars.
