Fabinho outlines the one thing he wants more of next season

Reds midfield ace Fabinho says he wants to continue to grow the amount of responsibility that he has at Anfield under Jurgen Klopp, having enjoyed a successful first season at the club.

Having signed for £40 million from AS Monaco last summer, he won the Champions League at the first time of asking and became a hugely influential player for the club.

Via LiverpoolFC.com, Fabinho said: “Even when I wasn’t playing, I already knew I had to work hard because I knew if I played a few games on the trot, I could become an important player for the team.

“I think I’ve shown that and it’s also something I wanted – to have more responsibility in the team, to keep improving as a player. I’ve always aspired to that, and the manager trusts me more.

“I finished last season strongly, I nearly always played. We cannot become complacent, we must keep wanting more, and that’s what I try to do.”

Having fully settled into life on Merseyside and established himself in the team, the Brazilian should be able to kick on even further in this coming season.

His breaking up of the play and intelligent passing is exactly what the Reds need from the base of the midfield, and also allows Jordan Henderson to move a little further forward.

Adam Lallana has been impressing in the number six role during pre-season, but Fabinho is the number one choice for that slot.
