Report outlines how West Ham United man helped Reds make summer signing

West Ham United left-back Aaron Cresswell gave the Reds a helping hand in the transfer window this summer, according to Football Insider, as the 29-year-old gave a glowing recommendation about goalkeeper Adrian, who arrived at Anfield on a free transfer.

Cresswell reportedly told Reds goalkeeping coach John Achterberg, who he presumably knows through both men being former Tranmere Rovers players, how good Adrian is, and gave him the Spaniard’s phone number to get in contact with him.

Adrian made a massive error at Southampton last weekend, but the Reds won the match anyway. Just days earlier, he became a Reds favourite immediately by helping to win the penalty shootout in the UEFA Super Cup final against Chelsea.

He’s likely to be called into action a lot more than at St Mary’s when the Reds face Arsenal later today. Coming up against Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Adrian will need to be back on top form.
