Liverpool starlet Adam Lewis set for lengthy spell on the sidelines

Young Liverpool full back Adam Lewis has suffered from a knee injury which will see him sit out games for a while.

The U23s star picked up the injury when the Reds were up against Arsenal – a fixture which ended in a 2-2 draw.

The teenager was forced off early in the game and scans have since revealed the extent of his injury.

As reported by the Echo, it’s expected that Lewis will miss a number of weeks, but no timescale has been set for his return.

The youngster should be fit again by Christmas, and hopefully can continue to work away and get himself involved with Jurgen Klopp’s plans.

Lewis, and team-mate Yasser Larouci, enjoyed a successful pre-season with the Reds over the summer in which they announced themselves to fans.

The full back pair will be hoping to break into the senior team soon, but would need an injury to both Andy Robertson and James Milner before Klopp would seriously consider them.

Lewis and Larouci are two different types of left backs – the Scouser being closer to Robbo’s style and the Algerian playing more like a converted winger.

But it’s now a number of weeks to recovery for Lewis until he gets a chance to turn heads again.
