Joel Matip, congratulations!
Liverpool’s Cameroonian centre-back has been imperious this season and has been named the Premier League Player of the Month for September – and deservedly so.
Liverpool’s official Twitter account published the news this morning:
YES, JOEL 💪

Matip missed our past two matches with a knock, but should come back into the side for the crunch clash with Manchester United at Old Trafford in two weeks’ time, providing he gets over his injury.
Liverpool haven’t necessarily racked up as many clean-sheets as we would have liked to this term (only three in all competitions), but the results speak for themselves.
We’re eight from eight in the Premier League, won the Super Cup, our EFL Cup opener and one of our two Champions League games.
Matip, when fit, is now an automatic starter and we’d suggest that behind van Dijk, only Aymeric Laporte is better in the entire top flight.
To think, we got him on a Bosman and Manchester United paid £80m for Harry Maguire.
