“I like the people” – Adrian opens up on swapping London for Liverpool

Liverpool goalkeeper Adrian made the move to the Red over the summer, after spending six years in London with West Ham.

In an interview with the Liverpool Echo, the Spaniard opened up on his thoughts and feelings on his first few months being a Liverpool player and living in the greatest city on earth.

The former Real Betis man only has nice things to say about the people of the place he now calls home, and insists that he is going to push Alisson for a starting speck.

I’ve had time to settle down, think about the beginning of my career at Liverpool, said the keeper in an exclusive chat with the Echo. “A bit crazy to be fair.

I came here to fight for the spot and to push Ali, have a great and healthy competition that is always improving us.

I knew that he did really well last season, I saw he was one of the most important players on the pitch and also with his national team as they won the Copa America.

I knew it was a big challenge for me but it is no problem, I was fighting for the spot as I am doing now.

After his injury I have to play quickly but I have been at West Ham for the last six years so I was waiting for my opportunity to show Adrian is at a good level and can help the team.

Being from Liverpool, I’m biased when it comes to whether my city is better than that of the capital, but moving from London to Merseyide is sure to be a culture shock for anyone.

Adrian says that he’s enjoying his time in the city. “It is a different city, a bit smaller than London but I feel that the people is very kind with different personalities as well,” he said.

I like the people, I’m more close and more familiar with them.
