Jurgen Klopp is reportedly said to remain fond of Watford’s Ismaila Sarr and West Ham United’s Jarrod Bowen.
This claim comes from TEAMtalk, with the outlet noting the rumours regarding the Reds’ interest in the pair in the summer window.
The Merseysiders were thought likely to invest in a new forward in the transfer market to compete with the likes of Divock Origi and former attacker Xherdan Shaqiri for a backup spot.
At 23 and 24 years of age respectively, Sarr and Bowen would represent typical targets for the recruitment team – at the very least as far as their age profile is concerned.
With 23 goal contributions last term – albeit in the Championship – the former has enjoyed a positive run of form for the Hornets in their Premier League return, finding the net on four occasions this term.
Of the pair, the Senegal international would probably make more sense given that we’re far more likely to strike a better deal for the player’s signature with Watford than we could with David Moyes’ Hammers outfit for Bowen.
Can admire Bowen all he likes-if true- not the slightest hope he will be sold. Not a lot to talk about. ?
Here we go again with the BS about Jarrod Bowen. It isn’t going to happen. He is an important player in the West Ham team, and the club is under no obligation to sell. Nor are they intimidated that the ‘mighty’ Liverpool have expressed interest. In fact, the tapping up technique – of letting it be known how much the player is admired by Klopp in the hope that will unsettle the boy – is pathetic. It’s also interesting that nowhere has the LFC media reported on Bowen’s goal celebration against Brentford. For the record, he pointed to his badge and then to the ground. As in: ‘This is my club, this is where I belong and am staying’. Please find some other player to write about, because this constant nonsense about Bowen to Liverpool is getting very, very boring.
I’ll make my point again. West Ham have no interest in selling Bowen, and the player has no interest in leaving. So why the persistence with articles like this, that adopt a ‘how will the player fit into LFC’ perspective? It’s arrogant BS to project such a view, and Liverpool as a club, in obviously condoning the nonsense, do themselves no favours. The days of LFC being able to cherrypick the best players from a club like West Ham are over. The gap between the clubs, in fact, is almost negligible, and the pronouncements about players like Bowen being admired (in the hope of unsettling them) is actually embarrassing. If LFC are interested in Bowen, make an enquiry and/or a bid, then accept the rejection from West Ham and the player, and move on. Anything else is boring.
