Brendan Rodgers will renew his efforts to find buyers for both Rickie Lambert and Fabio Borini, following the signing of Christian Benteke from Aston Villa – according to reports in The Independent.
Benteke is set to complete his move to Liverpool today, with the Reds having met his £32.5m buyout clause last week, leaving both Lambert and Borini surplus to requirements.
West Brom are interested in signing Lambert, who is available for around £3m according to the source, while West Ham could make an £8m move for Borini. However, there has been no official bid from either club thus far.

The two players managed just four goals between them last season and following the arrivals of Benteke, Danny Ings and Divock Origi – who returns to the club following a loan spell at Lille – they are well down the pecking order at Anfield.
Liverpool would also like to ditch Mario Balotelli, according to the report, but don’t expect anyone to take a risk on the former AC Milan striker. We’re hoping that a loan move can be arranged towards the end of the window, with the view to a permanent switch in the future.
