Marca, Real Madrid’s propaganda arm, claim Alberto Moreno is prime left-back target

Real Madrid want another left-back to support Marcelo, and are considering Liverpool’s Alberto Moreno as a potential option, claim MARCA (via the Echo) – the club’s unofficial propaganda arm.

The Spanish giants have one of the world’s best in the Brazilian, but have little other than Marcelo – and as they’re always in most competitions until the end – want another high level left-back.

The report claims that our 23-year-old is on a shortlist which includes Wolfsburg’s Ricardo Rodriguez, Lyon’s Samuel Umtiti and Ludogorets’ Natanael.

Five things we learned from Liverpool’s 2-1 Europa League win

Moreno has come on leaps and bounds since Jurgen Klopp took over, and despite looking a little shaky against Bordeaux in the Europa League last night, is a key and automatic member of our starting XI. We signed him from Sevilla in 2014 for £12m (via BBC Sport), so Real Madrid would have to shell out a significantly larger fee if their interest is genuine.

But ideally we’d keep our current squad together and let them develop under Klopp’s guidance. Moreno has the talent and physical attributes to evolve into one of the best left-backs in the Premier League, and surely this is as attractive a proposition as sitting on the bench at the Bernabeu.
