In case you missed it today, arguably the biggest piece of non-Liverpool news from the Premier League was Manchester City signing Germany midfielder Leroy Sane for £37 million.
The 20-year-old played for Germany in this summer’s European Championships and received a glowing reference from City’s new boss, Pep Guardiola, who called him a “special talent and an exciting player”.
Most interestingly, he is best deployed as either a winger or attacking midfielder, thus putting him into direct competition with a player we all love to hate, Raheem Sterling.

Sterling, of course, joined City for £49 million last summer after supposedly telling Brendan Rodgers on the first day of pre-season that he didn’t want to play for him anymore.
It’s hardly surprising, therefore, that lots of Liverpool fans have been enjoying giving Sterling a taste of his own medicine:
Liverpool really scammed City with Sterling.

Imagine Stones becoming the world’s most expensive defender. It’s like e that time Liverpool convinced City that Sterling was above average
