Expectancy surrounded the name of Harvey Elliott and with Reds fans were waiting for the official announcement of his transfer.
Now, the new No. 67 has been confirmed as Liverpool’s second signing of the summer, joining fellow teenage arrival, Sepp van den Berg, at the club.
As we all know, the 16-year-old is the youngest-ever debutant in the Premier League and it is hoped he will fulfil the prodigious potential he has previously shown at Fulham.
Although many fans have been clamouring for experienced senior squad additions, the capture of Elliott’s signature is undoubtedly an exciting occasion in an otherwise quiet transfer window for the Reds.
In turn, it has been confirmed that the teenager will be part of Jürgen Klopp’s 23-man squad for the friendly against Napoli at Murraryfield, so fans may get to Elliott make yet another debut very soon.
On Twitter, Reds fans were quick to express their delight and excitement at the signing of the young prospect, for whom the sky is hopefully the ceiling on Merseyside.
We beat some of Europe’s elite clubs for his signature. A star in the making. #LFC

Harvey Elliott is such an exciting signing for #LFC. The way Harvey plays, he reminds me a lot of the amazing Spanish winger Joaquín Sánchez Rodríguez.
If you’re good enough, you’re old enough. I can see Harvey getting games this season and making his mark 🔥⚽️

Don’t start being a dick to Harvey Elliott. It’s not his fault that Klopp is a quality manager and knows what he’s doing by not spending ridiculous money on players that won’t start in our 11.
