Gerrard “assaults” a Hull fan? What a load of … see for yourself

Posted by

Thanks to @AMG133 for submitting this video showing Stevie G “pushing” a Hull City supporter after they were pulling on his shirt. As you can see in the video there is really nothing to it but of course the Liverpool hating brigade is making a big deal of this. I simply can not believe the media took this non-story and is blowing it out of proportion, claiming that Gerrard “Assaulted” the fan, they just simply hate us so much.

Steven Gerrard was surrounded by the Hull City supporters right after the game yesterday and they were all pulling and grabbing on to him, they might have even said something to him.  All Stevie did was push one of them away and as you can see all he wanted was his space, nothing to it.

The big question is, why did Hull City allow their supporters to invade the pitch and get so close to the players? Shouldn’t someone have provided protection for the players? Stevie G. was simply trying to get away and head to the dressing room, where were the stewards?

Well Hull City, enjoy life down at the Championship but don’t you dare try this with any Leeds United player next season.

  1. Stevie G did nothing wrong. He was surrounded by fans (why where they on the pitch and why did the stewards not stop them?) – I can totally understand why he felt the need to push his way through the crowd – Hull should be fined for this. Our fans’ reactions will in all likelihood result is some sort of warning coming our way.

  2. If, let’s say, Drogba did somethging similar, we would have picked up the pitchforks instantly…

    Long live hypocrisy!

  3. @ Sam, what sharp eyes. It certainly looks like a kid tried to take his armband. Wonder why they allow crowd to storm the field like that. Luckily it didn’t turn nasty otherwise it’s not another bad news Liverpool wanted this time round.

  4. I think the main reason they have picked up on this and run with it was because he turned around to push him, not saying he did anything wrong as far as I can tell he was being threatened and imtimidated so at wrist it’s self defence! We all know every other fan loves to hate Gerrard! So nothing will happen over this.

But anyone blaming the stewards, had you ever been to a football match? How many stewards are there too fans, they get payed pennies to do what they do, would you put your life at risk to stop them? The stewards can’t really be blamed for this the fans involved should be banned from uture matches the club should make an official apology to Gerrard and Liverpool fc ad then Hull to be fined a nominal amount!

  5. Sorry to answer a question yes stewards should have gone to assist the players off the pitch as quickly as possible I will agree with that, but they can’t stop players rushing the ground

  6. I’m sure if the lad would have just asked Stevie for his armband he would have given it too him aswell!! Mountain out of a molehill!! TBH the kid was a cheeky c*nt for trying to take it anyway!! You never heard any of this rubbish when Louis Saha laid a blue nose out for trying to rob his cap at Goodison after a game this season either did ya!?!?! Typical bandwagon status for anything anti LFC!!! Personally i reckon it may have been Gerrards last game for us and thats why he responded in the way he did, i hope i’m wrong but i’ve got a feeling he’s had enough of the stress an strain this city puts on him and his family with all the bulls*it stories that get thrown about!!

  7. stevie g very handy at blowing is top ask that fella in southport you would think he would know better

  8. It looks very much like the fans mugging Gerrard as he leaves the pitch and trying to touch one of the countries footballing heros. One or two have let themselves down and gone too far and it appears that at least one has tried to take Stevies Captains arm-band. As previously said, if asked, I’m sure that Stevie would have given it to him.

  9. Well, the video clearly show that the kid was trying to grab his captain armband! Of course, Gerrard pushed him away. I would do that too if I were him! The Captain Armband is everything to him. He’s a true Red.
