Wonderkid sees his future at Anfield…
Liverpool fans will be waking up to good news today, with Raheem Sterling claiming he is keen to sign a lengthy new deal which will keep him at Anfield for the foreseeable future, reports the Mirror.
The 19-year-old is on roughly £30k-per-week now, but after a series of exhilarating performances last term, an excellent World Cup with England, and a strong start to this difficult campaign – the club has decided to reward arguably its biggest asset accordingly.
“The club has spoken to my representatives and hopefully something can be done really soon,” Sterling explained.
“Hopefully I can achieve the goals I want to achieve here at Liverpool in years to come.”
“I am happy to be here for as long as possible.
“I am just happy to play at this football club for many years to come.”
Sterling was rested for the majority of England’s friendly with Scotland during the international break, meaning he should be relatively fresh for our crunch clash with Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park tomorrow.
Sterling’s talent is almost unfathomable, and although he’s been quiet in recent weeks, if he reaches his potential he could develop into one of the very best players in the world.
The news that he wants to fulfil his ability with us is fantastic news.
