Italian forward has recovered from his hamstring problem…

Controversial striker Mario Balotelli could be recalled for the huge Premier League clash with Manchester United on Sunday at Old Trafford, reports the ESPN.

The 24-year-old Italian has been struggling with a hamstring injury picked up on international duty, and hasn’t played since the loss to Chelsea early in November.

He’s yet to score a Premier League goal since his £16m move from AC Milan, but could replace the struggling Rickie Lambert up top for the eagerly anticipated fixture.

Lambert was visibly tired versus FC Basel midweek, and was hauled off at half-time, meaning manager Brendan Rodgers may be even more tempted to start Balotelli with Daniel Sturridge still a while away from fitness as well.

The forward has serious history with our great rivals. He scored two goals during Manchester City’s 6-1 battering of United back in 2011, and infamously revealed his ‘Why Always Me?’ t-shirt underneath his Sky Blue jersey…

Few Liverpool fans would complain if he did the same at the weekend.
