The Reds are likely to be without Alberto Moreno for Tuesday’s crucial Premier League fixture against Hull City, after Liverpool Echo journalist James Pearce confirmed that the full-back sustained a ‘knock’ ahead of our game against West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.

With such a tight turn-around between the two fixtures, it seems unlikely that the 22-year-old will have recovered in time to play any part against the Tigers, who are coming off the back of their first win in seven.

His absence is likely to mean that Glen Johnson retains his place in the team, either in the left full-back position or in a more advanced left wing-back role.

Jon Flanagan is back in training but still needs time to return to full match-fitness after missing the entire campaign, while there is still no sign of Jose Enrique, who hasn’t featured since January.

Moreno has made 39 appearances for the Reds this season, enjoying a positive start to his Anfield career following his summer move from Sevilla. He’s started 35 of those games and scored twice in all competitions.
