According to the Liverpool Echo, we will be sporting the new strip for Steven Gerrard’s final game for the club before his summer departure to MLS. However, details of what the kit looks like have not yet been revealed by the club or the manufacturer New Balance.
The new home strip was launched last month at an event which saw Raheem Sterling heckled by some fans. Unsurprisingly given recent events, a similar format shall not be taking place for this launch.
The speculation and hype surrounding the new shirt will at least provide some excitement to a game that will otherwise have a very understated feel to it. Without a top four place to play for or an FA Cup final to prepare for, it’s going to be a very relaxed conclusion to what has been a disappointing season.
Getting an idea of what the team will be wearing next season should create that buzz and optimism of what the future has in store for Brendan Rodgers’ men, and allow us to put a tough year behind us.
Unsurprisingly, there has plenty of speculation flying around on social media about what we might see. The Echo posted this tweet from a fan account, suggesting that they might not be far away…
