New Balance labelled ‘Embarrassing’ & ‘Pathetic’ for latest plan after losing Nike court case

Despite losing in court, New Balance are refusing to give up on Liverpool.

According to the Echo, the American sportswear giant have filed appeal papers to ‘lock’ us into a kit deal from next year and beyond – despite the fact we’ve already signed a contract with Nike which will see us enter one of the most lucrative kit deals on the planet.

The Court of Appeal judge will now decide if another hearing will go ahead – but New Balance’s decision to fight for a club who clearly do not want them has been labelled ‘pathetic’ by football finance expert Mo Chatra.

They obviously are utterly desperate to keep their affiliation with us, but the court decided they could not match Nike’s potential distribution through using the likes of LeBron James, Serena Williams and Drake as influencers – and rightly so.

Why they think the decision will be overturned confuses us, but it proves how much Liverpool are worth fighting for.

We wouldn’t imagine this will delay the confirmation of our Nike deal too much – and in truth – we’re very excited to see how it’s broken – and the shirts we’ll be wearing in 2020/21.
