The Frenchman scored during the penalty shoot-out as we won the Champions League in 2005 and netted in the match itself during the FA Cup final of 2006. However, he never truly recovered from breaking his leg in 2004.
8) Danny Ings (2015)
After scoring 11 goals last season, despite his Burnley side’s relegation to the Championship, the striker attracted the attention of a number of top flight clubs. It was Liverpool who won the race, sealing the deal last month.
7) Craig Bellamy (2006)
Bellamy arrived for his first of two spells at Anfield in 2006. He netted nine goals this season, including one against Barcelona which followed his famous ‘golf club’ bust-up with teammate John Arne Riise.
